LEGACY
A new generation
There are 6 generations that have cultivated, harvested and cared for the family land, with ancestral techniques to take maximum care of the quality of the grapes obtained.
The harvest was sold as kilos of grapes to other producers to make wine, but the seventh generation saw the potential of the harvest obtained year after year and after two years of planning decided to produce the first Viña Loncora wine.
LOCATION
Chimiltito, Ninhue
Located in the Itata Valley, our vines, which are more than 200 years old, are located in a privileged terrain on the eastern slope of the Lonquén River in the Chimiltito sector, a sector that was characterized by its astringent wines. These vineyards are located on coastal clay soils that were not very productive, but were very successful wines in the 20th century. Today many of these vineyards are no longer there.
Viña Loncora is located on sedimentary soil on the banks of the Lonquén River, which rises from the coastal mountain range, a river that collects rainwater that flows down the hills in winter. This river runs until December in years of normal rainfall, and the main characteristic of this river is its white sand, which is rich in quartz.

Rivera de Lonquén is the first product line of Viña Loncora.
Harvested in dry land at the end of April 2021, this first Cepa País wine is made with a very careful aging process, with marked notes of ripe fruit such as cherries, plums and blackberries, along with notes reminiscent of cedar and cloves.
It is a wine that we recommend you to taste and savor at its best.
